Greensboro, N.C. -- Syngenta Crop Protection today announced that Inspire Super™ fungicide received U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approval for use on cucurbits. Inspire Super combines two active ingredients to provide cucurbit growers with effective, reliable control of gummy stem blight and powdery mildew. In 2008, Inspire Super was granted a Section 18 Emergency Exemption in Georgia for gummy stem blight control in cucurbits.
Inspire Super, a premix of difenoconazole and cyprodinil, offers growers a robust control of damaging cucurbit diseases. These active ingredients provide complementary activity to control cucurbit pathogens while offering rapid uptake into the plant due to difenoconazole's translaminar movement and the xylem-mobile movement of cyprodinil.
"The cucurbit diseases controlled by Inspire Super spread quickly and cause severe crop yield and quality issues, especially gummy stem blight," said David Laird, fungicide brand manager at Syngenta. "Inspire Super provides excellent control of a variety of diseases, so cucurbit growers can feel confident that their Inspire Super applications are providing consistent, reliable disease protection."
